Back in the way way back, I started out as a web designer. Here are a couple of sites I have designed, art directed and lead teams on the production process.
Since I was a kid, I was fascinated with how drawing a letter one way could mean something different if I drew it another way. This curiosity has lead me to graphic design and making logos. A part of my creative process is to make a logo or typographic expression to capture an idea. Doing this is a way to create a deeper understanding of that idea. The following are logos and type treatments from over the years.
I've worked alongside many talented photographers to build imagery that inspires and helps to build brands.
Graphic design for brands in the form of an ad-like-object.
The Dretore Investment Gallery in SoHo, New York is a concept of bringing the world of investing and finance together through the medium of non-correlated assets. These assets are not connected to the stock market, but rather their own timeline such as fine art or sports memorabilia.
This project started as a logo exercise that ballooned into the branding of three companies and the opening of the New York Location. Classic start-up situation which started as an idea and has now taken flight.
The inspiration behind Grab Life in Belize was a carpe diem call to action for tourists from around the world who were thirsty for adventure and living life more fully following the crisis of the 2020 Covid-19 Global Pandemic. Our goal was to shine a light on many of the things that Belize has to offer, but most people who visit don’t know about.
Known for it’s incredible Caribbean waters and the world’s 2nd largest barrier reef, Belize also offers incredible culture and adventure activities once you get off the beaches. The only native English speaking country in Central America, Belize is safe, beautiful and incredibly easy to navigate. By far one of my more beloved brands I have had the privilege to work on.
Role/s: Creative Director, Art Director, Graphic Designer, Guy who asked for thoughts and collaboration on set/site for the shoots, and wingman to the studio production of banners and exported objects. Full Service baby!
Shout out to the team at Vagrants. They were great partners on this project.
I have been very fortunate in my career to work with so many great people on a huge array of projects. It’s what I love best about what I do. Leading Hotels definitely stands out as one of the more fascinating brands with outstanding clients to work with and a dynamic range of storytelling opportunities.
Leading Hotels is comprised of the very best independent hotels in the world. The tourism and hotel space is very competitive and all the brands look to the same kinds of media channels to communicate what makes them a place to spend your time and money. The Leading Hotels organization understand that they needed to try something different. A new way to express a brand that is comprised with hundreds of other brands. This is where it gets good.
Through a multitude of rounds of creating looks for this new visual voice, we started to tap into the real truth about these locations. Each of these hotels view the experience that they present to their guests as an art form. Every single thing is thought about, considered and designed to make your guest experience truly unique. Making a particular destination so special that you want to come back again and again.
We understood that this kind of hospitality is definitely an art form. From this we started thinking and asking our selves questions. How can we communicate passion and care that is actually something that you can feel at a Leading Hotel? How do we go beyond the glossy photo of a building to share what it feels like to be there in your mind as well as your heart.
We tried many things, but it was when we started to tap into the classics and the language of fine art that we started to get closer to this meaning. Having visited several locations around the world, I started to really understand this level of art which is not expressed by something that you can hang on a wall, but in how you can feel inside.
The body has a memory separate from the mind and both can speak to us, remind us that there are places to go where true value can exist. The true value comes in the form of relationships. I met some great people on journey that took me and a small team from destination to destination around America and Europe in a short period of time. Everywhere we went, was a special experience. It’s impossible to pick which one I like the best because they all hold different meanings and stories. To be filled with purpose is the bridge to connecting with people everywhere.

SHV owned the largest billboard in the Eastern United States. It was along side the Mass Pike and behind the famed Fenway Park. One of the most visible signage locations in New England. Our task was to create awareness to two preventable issues. 1. That 8 children a day were killed in America each day by improperly stored handguns in the home. 2. These tragedy’s were obviously preventable, but it was Congress that was derailing legislation which would help enforce proper storage and protect fatal accidents from happening.
We did two things. Illustrated these facts in Black and White to inform the public. We also installed a digital counter that actively counted the number of lives that had been lost since the 2010 elections. Our team was recognized for the work, but more importantly, we created a dialogue. A conversation that was discussed on the news about these issues which helped inform the people.

A part of BofA’s mission of serving it’s customers is connecting with the communities they serve. This is the Local Markets Program. It’s an ongoing dialogue with the businesses that BofA supports and the projects they back within a community. When I worked on this program, we went to New York, LA, SF, Detroit, Phoenix, Chicago, Boston, D.C., Houston, and Seattle. At each location we spent a week or more creating documentaries of these businesses and projects happening. The variety of businesses and people we met was astounding. All of this content lives on the usual social channels and on each community page for Bank of America.

A campaign created during the 2020 global pandemic which devastated the economy of Belize. We were tasked of finding a way to communicate that Belize was a safe place to go and offers all the things that people around the world were missing in their lives.
Custom typography was created bases off of the letter forms in the Belize logo. The graphic elements were based off of the geometric shapes found in Mayan cultural art, pottery, textiles and ancient artifacts. These posters were displayed in the Miami, Houston and Chicago airports and added a huge pop of color in these environments.
